Dr Peter Croll is well known in the area of e-Health privacy having organized national symposiums to discuss critical issue. He currently chairs HIPS, a Health Informatics Privacy and Security forum for the Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA Ltd.) where he is a national board member and the chair of the Queensland Branch committee. He is serving on the technology committee for the Australian Law Reform Commission to assist in the proposed revisions for the Privacy Act. He was chair of the recent national Health Privacy Futures Conference (HPF'08) www.healthprivacy.org.au in Brisbane and will be chairing the forthcoming HISA's premier Health Informatics Conference, HIC'09on 19-21 Aug in Canberra.
Peter has previously held professorships at two leading Australian universities where he has been responsible as a manager and leader in his field. He has been a Head of School of IT, the Director of world class research centres, research institutes and academies. He was appointed as a National fellow for CSIRO's Preventative Health Flagship initiative in 2006. Dr Croll continues to research in e-health and supervises many Higher Degree students in this area. He has produced over 100 publications in IT appearing in scientific publications and peer reviewed journals with over 50 focusing on e-Health (as shown below). He has been engaged as a consultant for the Australian and British Governments, the Brisbane City Council, Private Industry, Professional Societies and Academia.

Dr Peter Croll’s journal paper "Investigating risk exposure in e-health systems" in Int. Journal of Medical Informatics, was selected for citation and inclusion in the 2007 Yearbook of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA). The yearbook represents "the most original, excellent state-of-the-art research in the area of health and biomedical informatics of the past year". This paper was the only publication from Australia to be selected under this best papers category (see also below for a list of his refereed ehealth publications).
